Welcome to the Bungalow!
The house, built in 1914, was originally the home of John Chartz, District Attorney in Carson City. John and Marguerite raised 3 children in the home. The middle son, Jimmy Chartz, a very popular character in Carson, lived in the home until his passing at 79 in 1999. Fully restored in 2005, this Arts and Crafts style home has the original fir floors, pulley windows, pine moldings and high ceilings.
For those familiar with the Bliss Bungalow, we have changed our offerings as we now occupy the main residence! We have one room available for all our new and old favorite guests - The Sun Room.
Tucked away in your very private guest room you have a private bath with shower, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker/coffee makings, Direct TV with HBO, alarm clock, hair dryer and WIFI. The Victorian walnut burl queen bed is from 1860's Carson City and has a pillowtop mattress, 400 thread count sheets with down comforters and pillows. Dresser, closet, iron and desk area. Antique (but modern and functional!) toilet with antique bathroom fixtures and shower.
You have a separate entrance to the room on the right hand side of the historic home (no access to rest of home as it is our private residence). Your key will be in the door for checkin anytime after 3 pm. Room does not have daily room service or breakfast. No front desk but call us with any questions or needs! Don't be surprised if you feel totally private...you may not see other guests or owners during your stay.
Nightly rates are $75, no tax. Discounts on multiple night stays. Let yourself in and make yourself at home!
